A Literary Program on "Goswami Tulasidas and SriRamacharitamanas" was organised by Akhila Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Ganjam Branch, Brahmapur, Odisha on 30 July 2025, Wednesday at 7.30 pm through Google Meet App. Online.

As an invited speaker, Dr. Harekrishna Meher delivered speech on Birth Identity of Saint-Poet Goswami Tulasidas and his valuable contributions to the Indian Literature. Continued discussion on social, cultural and spiritual importance of Saint Tulasidas's great immortal work SriRamacharitamanas therein contextually reciting several verses and slokas from different chapters (kanda).
Further elaborated discussion on his works in spiritual perspective and their positive social values. Also elucidated with quotations regarding some influence of SriRamcharitamanas on Odia literary works of Kavivar Radhanath Ray and Swabhavakavi Gangadhar Meher.
During speech, he explained the spiritual impression and divine vision of SriRama-devotee Goswami Tulasidas on Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra worshipped as Lord SriRama, Lakshmana and Devi Sita respectively.
Dr. Meher comparatively presented Upanishadic Verse 'अपाणिपादो जवनो ग्रहीता'.. and 'बिनु पद चलइ सुनइ बिनु काना'.. etc. from SriRamacharitamanas. Furthermore expressed own views on socio-cultural significance of Hanuman Chalisa and other compositions of Saint-Poet Tulasidas.
Goswami Tulasidas is regarded as an incarnation of Sage Valmiki, the author of great epic Ramayana. SriRamacharitamanas is popularly known as Tulasi Ramayana.
During discussion, Dr. Meher presented some similarities between Mahakavi Kalidasa, author of Raghuvansha Kaya and Goswami Tulasidas, author of SriRamcharitamanas regarding humbleness, dedication and keen devotion in writing own great compositions.
Also elucidated the humanitarian universal feelings of Sage Vyasadeva and Goswami Tulasidas by quoting the sloka 'परोपकार: पुण्याय पापाय पर-पीडनम्' and the verses 'परहित सरिस धर्म नहिं भाई, परपीड़ा सम नहिं अधमाई ।।'
